background and experience

  • 2007-2010 - BA (Hons) Film and Media Studies 2:1 from the University of East Anglia and the University of Essex. Modules included Film Theory and Critical Analysis, Audience Research, Video Production, Information Technology and a final year Dissertation.
  • 2010-2012 - Joined digital publisher WDM Group as a Staff Writer before becoming Editor of the magazine Manufacturing Digital after two months. During my time as Editor the publication won a 'Best In Industry' New Media Award. Throughout my employment I also contributed to the company's other titles including Business Review Europe and flagship magazine Exec Digital.
  • 2012 - Travelled around South East Asia and Australasia, writing a blog about the places I visited and events I experienced. While in New Zealand, I worked for a ski resort company, responsible for two mountains' media output, which included visual and written stories, press releases and social media management.
  • 2013 - Upon returning to England I decided to pursue freelance opportunities and have been expanding my portfolio ever since. In September, I travelled to South America where I wrote for the travel and tourism magazine Wine Republic while living in Mendoza, Argentina. I also continued to complete work for existing contacts and clients for the rest of the year.
  • 2014 - At the start of the year I began working for previous clients again and built up some new contacts as well. During the summer, my love for travelling took hold once more, so I embarked on a trip around Scandinavia, Russia and most of Northern and Central Europe.
  • 2015 - No major travel trips have been planned yet, but you never know! In the meantime, I am taking on work and continue to appreciate the projects that come my way.

Up until this point, work has included articles for print magazines, online blogs and copy for digital content agencies. Examples can be found on the Portfolio page.
